One color on Color-Wheel and two colors beside the contrast color to that color when applied together in a layout then it is called a 'Split - Complementary Color Scheme'. i.e. Yellow x Red-Purple Blue-Purple
There is a risk of getting contradictory scheme through this group containing Secondary colors. If these colors are used with skill and with appropriate proportion then it can create a pleasant scheme.
Double - Split - Complementary Scheme :
When two colors beside each two-contrast color on Color-Wheel applied together in a layout then it becomes a 'Double - Split Complementary scheme'. i.e. Yellow -Green Yellow-Orange x Red-Purple Blue-Purple
